Broadstone Community Concert Band

Who we are & what we do...

Welcome to Broadstone Community Concert Band’s web site. We’re an amateur wind band based in Broadstone, Dorset offering its members a fun and yet challenging opportunity to play within a large wind band.

We usually play a couple of large charity concerts each year at local venues which include Poole Lighthouse, Wimborne Minster and The Tivoli in Wimborne.

A little more about us...

We are currently a fifty strong band with a wide range of standards including hobbyist and a couple of professionals. We’re a very friendly bunch and welcome newcomers to any practice session - please email us first to arrange a suitable night to visit.

We play most Thursday evenings from 7pm until 9pm at St John’s Church, Tudor Road, Broadstone and play for a couple of hours on the numerous pieces we intend to perform at the next concert wherever that may be.

Our Christmas Concert will be on Wednesday 15th December at 7:30pm in Wimborne Minster (tickets on sale soon) and 'Carols In The Corn Market' will be on Friday 17th December at 6:30pm, outside The White Hart Pub in Wimborne, and is FREE for all the family.

Well, this will be our first performance after almost 18 months of not playing. We started back at rehearsals in early September and everyone loved it and we're eager to put on our annual Christmas Concert if permitted. Wimborne Minster have agreed and therefore we're really pleased to announce that our 2021 Christmas Concert will be mid week this year on Wednesday 15th December, with a 7:30pm start time.

The proceeds of ticket sales will go to our chosen Charity of this concert, namely, 'Going For Bust' which is a Breast Cancer Charity, dedicated to raising funds through its local Charity Shops, for local Hospitals and Support groups, in the fight to combat Breast Cancer in the East Dorset and West Hampshire areas. Going For Bust believe they offer the region's first and only Breast Cancer Charity Shops.

Look out for our Christmas Concert posters coming soon, or check back here again nearer the time, as Christmas Concert ticketing details are still being arranged.

Looking to play ?

If you play a 'Wind Band' instrument and you're looking to play in a big friendly band environment, then do get in touch with us by email initially. We're especially on the lookout for new Trombone, Trumpet, Euphonium and Sax players, who are looking to commit to regular rehearsal attendance.

Sometimes certain instrument sections are full so you do need to email first, rather than just turning up to one of our rehearsal sessions - drop us a line here
info@broadstone-community-concert-band.co.uk

Being an amateur band shows the commitment and time both band members and the band's conductor Damon Corio, have invested in providing a friendly, local concert band atmosphere to enable younger and older players to congregate and enjoy their pleasure of playing music and sharing with others at a couple of charity evening concerts.

Why not come along to our 2021 'Corn Market' Christmas Carol session on Friday 17th December at 6pm, it's held each year in The Corn Market in Wimborne and is a family favourite and a great way to get in the festive spirit !

Help us grow our charity donations....

We're on Facebook so why not have a look and share our news and concerts with your friends. We have anywhere between 400 and 800 members of the audience, but it would be fantastic to fill our larger venues like Lighthouse Poole, so we can raise more money for the charieties we support at each concert - click here to go to our Facebook page

If you're interested in asking the band to perform on behalf of your Charity then drop us an email now
